Obesity is a significant risk factor for an expanding set of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, many cancers, and an array of musculoskeletal disorders. These conditions had contributed to 4 million premature deaths and 120 million disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) worldwide.
The interactions between genetic and environmental risk factors such as demographic factors, physical inactivity, diet and metabolic markers have been linked to the increased risk of patients' susceptibility towards obesity. In this webinar, the experts in this field will highlight several important topics on obesity that are very prevalent in Malaysia and across the globe. The topics include as in the table below.
